Black-Cockatoo Workshops, WA (May 28 & 29) 

Join us for a free day-long workshop in the Perth metro area to learn about Black-Cockatoos. BirdLife Australia’s Threatened Bird Network and the Southwest Black-Cockatoo Recovery Program, Holcim Australia, and the Kaarakin Black-Cockatoo Conservation Centre invite you to a day-long workshop. Learn about Black-Cockatoo conservation, breeding ecology, gain ID skills and learn how you can get involved in citizen science programs in southern WA.

We are holding two workshops within the Perth metro area. Both workshops will consist of a morning information session, followed by an activity. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Workshop 1
When: Monday 28th May | 9.30am
Where: Kaarakin Black-Cockatoo Conservation Centre, 322 Mills Rd East, Martin WA
What: This workshop includes a guided tour around Kaarakin Black-Cockatoo Conservation Centre where you will see these amazing birds up close. After this, we will help with some onsite habitat restoration. 

Workshop 2
When: Tuesday 29th May | 9.30am
Where: Edith Cowan University Joondalup, building 31/270 Joondalup Dr, 6027. Followed by tree planting at a nearby Jandabup site.
What: This workshop includes a field trip to learn about habitat use and the breeding ecology of Black-Cockatoos in the northern metro area of Perth. Following this, we will participate in a tree planting event to restore Black-Cockatoo habitat.
